From Reno, take I80 east.
Take the Wadsworth exit.
Turn north on route 447 toward Gerlach.
Gas up and get last minute groceries in Empire.
Continue north to Gerlach.
When you get to Gerlach, check your speedometer at Bruno's Country Club in the middle of town.
Then continue to drive West through Gerlach, taking the fork to the right just outside of town (state route 34).
You will be driving north with the playa on your right.
At about nine miles from Bruno's you will pass the entry onto the playa that is used for the event.
At about twelve miles from Bruno's take a right off the pavement onto a well worn dirt entry to the playa.
This is referred to as, "the twelve mile entrance".
The tracks will take off in many directions.
Bear north, sticking to the tracks to the left.
You will have the flat playa on your right and hillocks, berms, and sagebrush on your left.
Within a half mile of leaving the blacktop there will be a sort of cove set back a hundred yards or so in the sage brush. There will be lots of tracks.
This be 'da place.
If you miss it, go back to where you left the blacktop and try again.
This is a fairly popular area. DPW folks have been camping just a little north of here.
