The first (and perhaps only) San Francisco Ranger training for 2013 is Sunday, August 4th at Ice Cream’s new warehouse: 5913 3rd Street (cross street Donner) from 10 AM – 5 PM. We can host approximately 75, so there should be room for everyone. If we become space constrained, we will give priority to Rangers and Alpha’s signed up over other departments and walk-ins.
(Q) Where should I Park?
(A) Anywhere. There is ample parking on 3rd Street, Donner Ave, Egbert Ave, Carroll Ave, heck just about anywhere around the warehouse is pretty open. Please don’t park in the courtyard behind the warehouse since we may use that space for scenarios.
(Q) Is there public transportation?
(A) Yep. streetcar stops across the street (KT-Ingleside/3rd Street line).
(Q) Got Milk? Bacon? Lunch munchies?
(A) Fresh & Easy is across the street.
(Q) Got Ice Cream?
(A) Only if you have RYFM before you get to training.
As others have repeatedly said, there are a number of changes, enhancements and improvements to this year’s training, including a newly minted manual and a nifty online manual review (all alphas and first years must complete BEFORE training). The training is structured to allow more scenario time and deeper dives into important discussions, and that works best if you read your manual in advance.
Important! Alphas and first year rangers need to be at the training at 10 AM. 2nd+ year vets need to be at the training at 1:30 PM. This is new from last year. As always, 2nd+ year vets are welcome to show up in the morning for the ARTs.
